We were welcomed by\u00a0beautiful skies and\u00a0pristine air; the conditions were glorious.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ca.gpen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_2761_grande.jpg\" alt=\"inline-image\"><\/p>\n<p>After conquering most of the mountain,\u00a0we ended up roaming outside the ski boundary\u00a0into Mammoth&#8217;s backcountry\u00a0and came across\u00a0a secret gem, <i>Hole in the Wall.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ca.gpen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_2903_1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"inline-image\"><\/p>\n<p><em>Hole in the Wall\u00a0<\/em>is a natural lava tube formed by erosion.
