Pour notre plus r\u00e9cente exp\u00e9dition \u00e0 Los Angeles, nous avons pris la ligne Expo du m\u00e9tro jusqu'au CA Science Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There’s an abundance of reasons to experience the museum (#1: it’s free! ) but for this occasion, we checked out\u00a0their featured exhibition King Tut\u00a0: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh<\/a>\u00a0(malheureusement pas gratuite).<\/p>\n

Passing at only 19 years old, Pharaoh Tutankhamun\u00a0ruled Egypt during the New Kingdom period, 1332\u20131323 BC.<\/p>\n

The tomb was discovered by Hussein Abdel-Rassoul in 1922, at the time a water boy working under English\u00a0explorer Howard Carter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Egyptians believed that the deceased had to pass through 12\u00a0gates of the underworld after death, so their tombs were equipped with tools & resources to defeat the demons and animals on their journey through the Netherworld. The exhibit is a comprehensive\u00a0collection of artifacts stored in the tomb for King Tut’s passage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The kelp forest was a cool follow up to\u00a0the Golden Pharaoh. Big fish, sharks & eels swim over a walkway.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Ecosystems section hosts interesting communities. Most heated,\u00a0the desert\u00a0area which\u00a0has cactus, lizzards and a turkey vulture.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Module de commande Apollo-Soyouz <\/em>was flown by American astronauts Tom Stafford, Deke Slayton and Vance Brand to rendezvous with a Russian Soyuz spacecraft parked in orbit around the Earth. Although built to fly to the moon as Apollo 18, its mission was changed when funding was cut for the Apollo program. The Science Center\u2019s Apollo capsule is on loan from the Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum.”<\/p>\n
